New chart(s)
There’s always at least one new chart put together by me.
This time I have a couple being worked on, :
Tadd Dameron’s “On a misty Night”
and “This Time the Dream’s On Me” by harold Arlan.
I got a bit intrigued by songs with “Dream” in the title and thought
of a way to turn this wonderful standard into a big band instrumental
chart.
Hope you like the results

The rest of the repertoire revives a few of our charts like “I Say a
Little Prayer” (a la Roland Kirk), and the recent mega chart of
“Rhapsody for the Duke”
where sonata form has been employed to incorporate such Ellington
classics as “Creole Rhapsody”, “Harlem Air Shaft” and “The Tattoed
Bride”.
Ellington was always interested in “longform” jazz and this seemed a
good way to follow in his footsteps.

Lots of great soloists as well as the power of a 17 piece band when
there’s an ensemble (all together), plenty of swinging, ballads, what
more could you ask for?

The Kelvin Club is comfortable, good seats, tables, kitchen and bar,
great acoustics (the band plays “unplugged”

Booking is an extremely good idea.
9654 5711 is the number

hope to see you there,
Ken
